Robo Runner

Robo Runner was born out of the idea to test mechanics within the engine through an obstacle course. You will find the most comprehensive collection of mechanics out of all of the samples located within the level.

Not only are you tested with numerous rotating and oscillating spline objects, but also you must be aware of physical properties on object surfaces that can restrict or propel the players movement.

We hope you enjoy Robo Runner as much as we have in making it!

Smart Objects Used

Character

A default character controller is supplied and spawns in the center of the map.

Spawnpoint

The spawnpoint is located in the center of the map as a yelow striped character that takes the shape of the scenes active default character that will spawn.

Rotation Component

You will find in numerous objects the ability to rotate or "ping-pong" in the scene to create kinetic gameplay through the obstacle course.

Path Animations

The Path Animations can be defined as objects that oscillate between 2 points drawn out with a spline. In the obstacle course you will first encounter this with the hydraulic lifts.

Collectables

Within the scene you will find rotating hearts that you can collect within the scene.

Rigid Body

A Rigid Body can be defined as an object that has gravity applied to it. In the course you will find the stacks of donuts in the middle section will fall over you collide into them.

Damage Volumes

Throughout the scene there are Spikes and Rotating Corkscrews that can cause damage and force the player to respawn to the beginning of the level.

Respawn Zone

The respawn zone is located as a red striped object in the scene that allows for respawning of the player to the initial Spawnpoint.
